BuzzFeed has published a phenomenal list Target shopping tips.
Did you know that Target marks down certain types of items on specific days of the week?
BuzzFeed’s article even tells you how to crack the pricetag code to find out what percentage an item is discounted. Also, if the item’s price ends in 6 or 8, e.g., $9.98 or $9.96, Target plans to reduce the price again if it doesn’t sell. If an item’s price ends in 4, e.g., $9.94, it won’t get discounted any further.
You also might not realize that Target limits you to $75 worth of merchandise returned without a receipt during a year’s time, and gives you 30 days to return electronics and entertainment merchandise. REDcard debit and credit card users get an extra 30 days of return time on most items, in addition to the 5 percent discount on purchases.
Plus, Target offers mobile apps with discount coupons that change frequently, a 5-cent discount for each plastic grocery bag you bring to carry your purchase and price matching if you bring a competitor’s printed ad. You might also find Target merchandise at Goodwill, where it donates many items that don’t sell on clearance.
