If you’re not under contract with your mobile phone carrier and not hemmed in by an installment plan you can’t pay off quickly, you need to take a look at Verizon’s new pricing on their prepaid plans.
Verizon Wireless maintains an amazingly far-reaching and reliable mobile network with blazing fast 4G LTE speeds. If you already have a Verizon mobile phone or can pick one up on the cheap (such as the LG Optimus Zone 3, currently available for $69.99), you can possibly cut back your cell phone bill in a big way.

The catch is that you need to sign up for autopay with a credit or debit card in order to get the best deal. Get 3 GB of mobile data with a $45 prepaid plan when you activate a new device and sign up for autopay. including 1 GB of bonus data for using autopay, with unlimited talk and text in the U.S. along with text to Mexico and Canada. The previous plan came with only 1 GB of data.
If that’s not enough data for you, choose the plan that gets you 6 GB of mobile data (including a 1 GB autopay bonus) for $60 per month, with unlimited talk and text in the U.S. and unlimited text and calling to Canada and Mexico (their prior plan came with 3 GB of data).
Verizon also sells a Wi-Fi only smartphone plan for $30 per month, with no mobile data and unlimited talk and text. Their basic mobile phone plans include unlimited talk, text and mobile web for $30 a month or 300 voice minutes, texts or multimedia messages (in any combination) along with unlimited mobile web for just $15 a month.
Verizon’s new prepaid pricing plans were previously available as promotions, but they’re going long term starting May 15. Nothing is permanent in the mobile phone world, though, so don’t wait to take advantage of these superb deals.
I’ve found Verizon Wireless service to be incredibly fast and reliable. My parents use Verizon Wireless because they live out in the country and travel quite a bit on business, and Verizon is the only mobile phone service that works where they live and anywhere else they go.
If you’re looking for a premium smartphone on the Verizon network but can’t afford the steep prices, look into great deals on certified pre-owned smartphones through Verizon or through Gazelle. Certified pre-owned devices can be a great way to upgrade your tablet or smartphone without breaking the bank.
Verizon’s prepaid plans don’t offer shared data among family members, and they don’t let you pay for an expensive mobile phone in installments like you can on their standard mobile plans.
