Ever run out of juice boxes for packing kids’ lunches mid-week? Or wished that you could ditch juice boxes altogether in favor of something more environmentally friendly and less wasteful?
Booginhead Squeez’Ems Reusable Food Pouches may have exactly what you’re looking for. As soon as I opened and looked at the product, the first thought that came to mind was possibly replacing expensive juice boxes, but my testing assistants, ages 4 and 10, had other ideas, wanting drink after drink in a Squeez’Ems bottle instead of a normal cup.

My older child also filled hers with yogurt, like the squeeze tubes of Yoplait GoGurt, which cost around $3.19 for a pack of eight 2.25 oz servings or 18 cents per ounce. The Yoplait Light cups in my fridge cost 50 cents each on sale, or about 8 cents an ounce. If your kids love GoGurt and you’d like to substitute a much cheaper substitute, Squeez’Ems have you covered.
Although technically you can place Squeez’Ems in the dishwasher, the packaging recommends hand washing, which didn’t turn out to be a problem. I simply rinsed them out in the sink, and they came clean easily regardless of what we put in them, including yogurt, juice, milk and Gatorade.
Squeez’Ems hold the same amount as a standard juice box – 6 oz – and you’ll have no trouble filling them. Arrows at the top tell you that the fill lid twists in the opposite of lefty-loosy, righty-tighty, to contrast to the drink opening, which also twists on and off easily.
My daughters love drinking from the Squeez’Ems and actually prefer them to regular cups or even cups with straws. Toddlers who still prefer sippies probably could also use Squeez’Ems easily. The containers are sturdy enough that they don’t cause accidental spillage, and our experience found that they could carry numerous different beverages and semi-liquid substances.
Squeez’Ems contain no BPA, PVC or phthalates, and you can safely put them in the freezer or microwave. You can buy a pack of two Squeez’Ems online from Amazon for about $6.99.
Squeez’Ems give you a fantastic way to add yogurt or apple sauce to lunch pales or to provide a replacement for lugging home heavy cases of juice boxes. BooginHead provided me with a sample package to use for this honest evaluation.
