How could kids not love a toy that spins and flies through the air? With LEGO Ninjago Airjitzu, kids pull a zipline to make the toy spin and fly up into the air.

For this review, I received sample products – the blue LEGO Ninjago Airjitzu Jay Flyer 70740 (with 45 pieces) and the green LEGO Ninjago Airjitzu Morro Flyer 70743 Building Kit
(with 46 pieces). My daughters, ages 5 and 11, couldn’t wait to try the toys. LEGO suggests ages 6 through 14 for the Ninjago Airjitzu flyers, and both of my girls loved them.
Before they could fly their Airjitzus, the girls had to assemble them, which was no problem for the older child, who put it together in a matter of 5 or 10 minutes. My younger daughter required a bit of help. In addition to the assembly pieces, the flyers come with tiny ninja tools such as throwing stars and swords.
We had extremely hot weather during the demo period, so the girls launched their Airjitzu flyers in the house rather than outside. Good thing the Ninjago Airjitzu flyers can hold up to banging around walls and furniture without causing damage, either to themselves or the home decor.
My left-handed older child needed only a few minutes of practice to get the toy flying where she wanted it rather than always veering left. My right-handed younger girl also needed only a few attempts before she had her flyer zipping forward rather than to the right. The girls even had contests to see who could set her flyer on the best flight path.
After playing with their flyers for awhile, both girls took out the LEGO minifigure pilots to play with them. They also got out LEGO blocks to build complex houses for their ninja pilots.
LEGO continues to sell an amazing array of creative toys that exercise kids’ minds while they bring their imaginations to life and build fine motor skills. LEGO Ninjago Airjitzu toys will likely appear on many girls’ and boys’ birthday and Santa wish lists.
