This is a guest post from Jayleen Zotti at HowDoTheJonesDoIt.com.
We’re back from a whirlwind 12-day road trip, and the Chevy Tahoe gauge is showing 9% oil life. Those 3,000 miles seem to fly right by and the money flies right along with the miles.
If only we could change the oil ourselves, but wait, there’s a better way!
Get a Free Oil Change with Secret Shopping!
Have you ever wished you could tell a company what they could do to make your experience better? Do you want them to know how much you appreciate the little conveniences they provide for you? Does that sassy receptionist make your skin crawl? Did I mention, you may have the opportunity to get your oil changed free? (You pay up front and will be reimbursed up to set amount of shop.) Here’s your chance!
YOU have the opportunity to share your opinion in a thoughtful, straightforward way, get paid cash for your feedback, and make a difference! It’s easy peasey.
So what exactly is a Secret Shop?
Secret Shops are used to help companies measure quality of service, compliance with regulation, or to gather specific information about products and services. Secret shops isolate key behaviors that drive customer delight and transform simple memorable experiences into customer loyalty. Secret shops directly correlate to increased revenue and customer satisfaction. Secret shops are performed by people just like you!
Secret Shops are NOT:
Tattling
Secret shops are NOT an opportunity to act like a three-year-old telling on her big sister. Just answer the question in a factual manner. Of course, we all know three-year-olds like that don’t exist!
Complaining
No one wants to hear a whiny hiney. Whine to a spouse or friends willing to listen. Whining is not productive when it comes to secret shops. Stick with the facts.
Making a Scene
Acting all high and mighty and full of power will not get the job done. Letting them know you’re watching their every move is not the answer. Humble yourself. It’s just a survey. Mouthiness is not an option.
Secret Shops ARE:
Factual Based
No need to get all touchy feely here. Leave your emotions out and state the facts.
To the Point
Answer the question! If the question is, ‘What color was the customer service representative’s hair?’ Go ahead and state it was purple and green with a mohawk three feet tall. No need to expand on the earring in his eyebrow or the tattoo across his cheek. Stay on point!
Secretive
Secret shops are, well, they are to be kept secret. When you enter a place of business waving a copy of the survey, you’re no longer a secret shopper. You may want to ask that guy how tall he is or what color he might consider his hair to be but, resist the urge.
Are You Ready to Give Secret Shopping a Shot?
I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical at first, but I decided to give it a shot to see if this free oil change with secret shopping was for real. Now that I’ve done it twice, successfully, I’m hooked. Why pay for oil changes when I can get reimbursed for them with just a little work?
It’s free to sign up as a BestMark shopper, and you are able to view the opportunities in your area as soon as you’re hired into the system. The best part is that you get to provide feedback about the experiences you have at local businesses AND get paid for it!
Auto manufacturers want feedback from their customers – people like YOU!
Here’s What You Do:
1. Agree to perform a mystery shop assignment.
You will be sent Weekly Mystery Shop Opportunities through email. If one sounds interesting or beneficial to you, sign up for the shop. If you have to drive 20 miles to perform a shop that pays $10, it probably won’t be beneficial to you. If you need an oil change and there is a shop assignment nearby, why not?
2. Perform the dealership mystery shop per instructions.
Read the shop instructions carefully so you don’t miss an important step. For example, if you fail to get a copy of your invoice, you will not be reimbursed for your shop. If you blaze a trail telling employees you’re recording their every move, you will not be reimbursed for your shop. If you announce ‘the timer has started,’ you will not be reimbursed for your shop.
3. Complete the online survey.
It’s a good idea to complete the survey as soon as possible after your shop while the details are fresh in your mind. I even write a few notes, inconspicuously, while hanging out in the waiting room. You may remember the zebra tights that gal was wearing but you probably won’t remember how tall she was.
4. Provide a copy of your receipt.
Receipts can be scanned and digitally uploaded to your survey. It is also acceptable to take a picture of your receipt to upload. How do I know? Let’s just say I signed up for a shop at the precise moment my printer stopped working.
5. Get paid!
BestMark has a pretty quick turn around on checks! Our last two checks arrived within two weeks. That’s better than the IRS! Well, anything is better than the IRS, I suppose.
