One of the more challenging parts of Christmas shopping is finding gifts that cost in the neighborhood of $20. You might have some sort of gift exchange at work, school, church or elsewhere with a $20 guideline. Or, maybe you spend about $20 on a particular friend’s gift.
Here’s a list of several great gifts costing around $20 or less. Most can be directly shipped to gift recipients to save you the trouble of buying something, boxing it and shipping it yourself. What would you add to this list?

Holding Cell Smartphone Holder
Holding Cell is a gadget that grips your smartphone and holds it in a hands-free position where ever you need it. The company’s marketing materials suggest putting it beside your bed, up against your mattress. That’s not where I’d want it, though, since I value my sleep and don’t want a phone near my bed.
However, Holding Cell works in a variety of different settings that make it a handy thing to have. Use it to hold your phone in the kitchen or living room while keeping your hands available for other tasks. You can also use it in the garage, RV, boat, hospital bed or couch, or attach it to a wall.
The Holding Cell is supposed to fit any smartphone, and judging from my experience with a sample Holding Cell, it sure seems like it would. Best of all, at about $20, Holding Cell makes a fantastic gift for just about anyone.
Coleman 9-Can Soft Cooler With Hard Liner
For anyone who takes beer or soda to the beach, pool or parties, check out Coleman’s 9-can soft cooler. It’s available in four different colors and holds nine cans. It features an adjustable shoulder strap, front zippered pocket, inside top mesh pockets, two side mesh pockets and an easy-to-clean liner. You can use real ice or ice packs to keep beverages cool.
Etekcity Portable Outdoor LED Camping Lantern
I received an LED camping lantern as a gift one year, and I love it. I never go camping, but LED lanterns are great to have on hand for power outages.
These are better than flashlights for a number of reasons. They’re brighter than standard flashlights, plus they use smaller batteries (AA rather than D), so they’re much lighter.
Lanterns are also much easier to use, since you don’t have to hold them or prop them up somewhere like a flashlight. For example, you can set the lantern in the bathroom rather than trying to find a place to put it so that you can see what you’re doing.
An LED lantern is a practical gift for all of your loved ones, to make sure they have dependable lighting during power outages.
Artwork
I’m cheating a bit here since Minted.com’s wall art starts at $21 rather than $20, but it’s worth the extra money.
You’ll find a variety of different choices for anyone’s taste. For a few extra bucks, you can add a frame of your choice. Art is truly the gift that keeps on giving – something that can hang in a person’s office or bedroom for many years to come.
