My husband gets the credit for this amazing Captain Underpants pumpkin. My 7-year-old is a big fan of the Captain Underpants books and really enjoyed the Captain Underpants movie.

This project uses permanent acrylic paint, so you’ll need to put down an old sheet, tarp, a flattened cardboard box, or something else to protect your flooring or carpet. You’ll also need some paint brushes or sponges.
Here are some other items you’ll need to make a Captain Underpants pumpkin:
- Skintone acrylic paint
- Pumpkin carving kit
- White acrylic paint
- Black acrylic paint
- Red material for the cape, or an old red T-shirt or polo shirt (solid – no logos or print)
- Cardboard or manila folders to make the arms and legs (our older daughter drew them free-hand, and her sister cut them out)
