Weird Stuff We Sold On Ebay, Video #2

Welcome to episode #2 of Weird Stuff We Sold on EBay, another look at some of the odd things we found around the house and garage to sell online.

In this post, I’m sharing another video about some of the stranger stuff we sold on eBay recently.

Almost everything came from somewhere around our house or garage. As always, before deciding to list something for sale, I researched similar items on eBay to make sure other items had sold in the past for $10 or more.

I usually don’t list items for less than $10 plus shipping, since it’s not worth my time.…

Buy These 10 Things at the Dollar Store to Save Money This Summer

Summer is a great time to find some amazing bargains at your local dollar store. Here are 10 of my favorite summer items to pick up for only $1.

I’m a longtime fan of dollar stores and Dollar Tree in particular. I don’t have any sort of financial connection to such stores, so I have nothing to gain by writing about them. I genuinely love going to dollar stores.

You’ll find bargains for any time of year at the dollar store, and you never know what you might find. Every store is slightly different, too.…

What You Can Expect to See in Outlander Season 4

Fans of the Outlander TV show call the time between seasons “Draughtlander” with good reason. It’s a fantastic show, and there’s nothing else on TV to rival it.

Even those of us who have read all of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander books eagerly anticipate a season of new episodes with Claire, Jamie and their friends and family. STARZ recently announced some new cast members, that season four will begin in November, and that the network has renewed the Outlander series through seasons five and six.…

5 Splurge Items for Your Home Emergency Kit

You'll find tons of information on the internet about items you should keep in a basic home emergency kit, but here are some items that probably aren't on those other lists.

Our home was heavily damaged by a tornado several years ago, and it’s not an experience we’re likely to forget.

Fortunately, a few things worked in our favor. We live in a densely populated area, and our electricity was restored in a miraculously short amount of time – less than 24 hours.

This came as a surprise given the number of downed trees and power lines in the area.…

Why You Shouldn’t Overreact to the ‘Genetic Informant’ Hype

A recent break in a California cold case has brought ancestral DNA privacy into the spotlight. Should you be concerned?

Police in California believe that they’ve cracked a decades-old case involving multiple rapes and murders in the 1970s and early 1980s.

Finding their suspect involved more than just the modern ability to extract DNA from crime scene samples. Since the DNA didn’t match anyone in their law enforcement databases, police turned to a free online database of DNA called GEDMATCH.

On GEDMATCH, people researching their genealogy voluntarily post their ancestral DNA profiles to help in building their family trees.…
