About LivingWithBeth

LivingWithBeth: Make Everything BetterMy goal with LivingWithBeth is to help you do everything better and even perform tasks you may have never thought of trying.

My degree is in journalism, but my main gig is fixing computers. I’m also an expert at selling your excess stuff online. I’m a Top Rated Seller on eBay and wrote a book about online selling – “Cash In Your Closets: The Ultimate Guide to Selling Your Excess Stuff Online.”

I’ve worked in technology for a long time, but until a few years ago, I rarely tried to fix anything other than computers and related devices. Nowadays, before I call in a professional, I research household problems thoroughly see if I can fix them on my own. In many cases, I can, and I usually write about my experiences here.

I have fixed my ailing dishwasher, quieted my squeaky clothes dryer, repainted my deck and porch, installed a doorbell, fixed clogged toilets, dealt with stripped door hinge screws, installed new toilet seats, repaired a damaged popcorn ceiling, fixed vacuum cleaners, and a whole lot more.

In addition, I’m my family’s genealogist, having researched our ancestry for more than 20 years. My relatives did a lot of things that make me proud. I’ve traced my maternal direct ancestors back to four passengers on the Mayflower. I’ve got at least three direct ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War.

I live in Raleigh, NC, with my husband, two daughters, one in high school and one in elementary school, and two cats.
