I recently had the opportunity to receive a free Big Pen from the new Designed By Students collection available at Staples stores.
Just in time for Back to School shopping, Staples has come out with an array of products conceptualized, invented, designed, prototyped and tested by kids.
My 11-year-old daughter, who just started middle school (6th grade), immediately took to the Big Pen, with its handy pencil case, highlighter, giant eraser and pencil sharpener. In addition to the Big Pen, the Staples Designed by Students selections include a floating locker shelf, a portable desk, various innovative backpacks, unique lunch bags, organizing folders and tray desks. All of the products come in a snazzy assortment of available color choices, too.
Here’s a video demonstration of the Staples Designed by Students Big Pen starring my daughter.
Staples figured out that kids know best what they need to succeed in school. Many parents have been out of school for a (very) long time, and kids have very different requirements now.
In addition to needing back to school clothes, my daughters’ schools provide a very long list of school supplies to buy. Back when I was in school, we weren’t told what we needed to buy. They gave us a pencil and a tablet! Apparently, schools have no money for student supplies anymore, so it’s all up to the parents.
Staples has been running some great sales on their back to school items like pens, pencils, erasers, notebooks and computers. Here’s a fantastic list of Staples deals for this week from the Krazy Coupon Lady.
Anyone need a $5 off a $30 purchase coupon for Staples.com? Comment below and I’ll make it happen (while supplies last).
